The meeting on Saturday was a low key affair ostensibly aimed at school and youth events.
The programme had a selection of jumping and throwing disciplines plus 7 track races, which included a 3000m race walk and 300m hurdles.
The big fail of Hiro Tanimoto is that he only did 3 of these, specifically the 1000m, 600m and 2000m.

The highlight of the day would have to be Saravee Sos’s solo 300m hurdles run. This is not a sight you will see every day as he is a specialist 100m and 200m sprinter.
But it must be his birthday as he wanted to see how fast he could go since he last ran the event when he was 13.
He clocked 43.99s for the win, breaking the magic 44s mark.
The throwing crew at the discus and javelin area had their usual joyful time and it is more of a social event than serious competition. And always with Shaka Sola looking on from his usual spot on the sidelines. But it works.
Doing his thing at the throws, high jump and 60m sprint was Tuariki Delamere competing as a master in the 70yo grade.

He represented NZ at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in the long jump and triple jump and while at Washington State University, on an athletics scholarship, he pioneered the full somersault in the long jump, Now that would have been something to see.
He is based in Auckland has several business interests the most well know would be his immigration consultancy.
He ran in Glen Eden colours on Saturday and looked as fit as a fiddle.
