Waiting for Dan are Daryl and Bede with Sharon fiddling with the paperwork.
They didn’t have long to wait because Mr Jones came around the corner shortly after to win in 15.32. Not his best time but respectable enough to know that he is in good shape.
His big plan is to run the Gold Coast Marathon in July and maybe do a shorter race before then (say a half-marathon) to test the speed and endurance. Based on previous performances neither is really a problem.
Was that Will Critchlow in second place? Yes it was, putting in his trademark sprint finish
to clock 17.10.
Third was Paul Shoemark in 17.25, a newcomer to the
waterfront race but with some Parkrun success under his belt.
The women were led home by Danielle Trewoon in 20.18, a PB
and her best time since October 2017. Will Danielle be able to get over the magic
20 minute mark?
Caroline Mellsop was second in 20.49 and who won last week
in a slightly quicker 20.44 which is her personal best on this course.
In third place was Lucy Lawlor who covered the course in 21.31.
There are no photos today as I was busy taking pictures at the McEvedy Shield which is something you need to experience before you die. And frankly that was enough for one day.
