This event does not have the same atmosphere as the McEvedy Shield but it does have much wider representation from the local regional high schools including those in the Wairarapa/ So it could be argued that the quality of the fields is actually that much better because those participating have shown to be the best in their respective schools.
Not all events can be fitted into the main programme which mean some have been scheduled for Saturday as part of the normal Wellington Athletics T&F activities. I will have photos from these events in a new post
The rising northerly wind had an impact on afternoon performances and in some cases track times that might have been recognised as records were not because of wind readings.
